ICICI Bank with new facility for foreign customers. ICICI Bank’s NRI account holders can make UPI payments in India using a foreign phone number.
NRI customers can make utility bills, trade and e-commerce transactions using an international mobile number through an ICICI Bank NRE/NRO account in India. This service is available through the bank’s mobile app i Mobile Pay. This service is provided through the payment gateway of National Payments Corporation (NPCI).

This facility is available in 10 countries namely US, UK, UAE, Canada, Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong, Oman, Qatar and Saudi. NRI customers can make UPI payments by scanning any Indian QR code. Indians in 10 countries can use UPI without switching their phone to an Indian number, said Siddhartha Mishra, Head of Digital Channels and Partnerships, ICICI Bank.
