KUWAIT CITY: The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior has stated that those who violate the residency law will not be allowed to leave the country or legalize their status after June 17.
Violators have been given a deadline to leave the country without paying fines and amend their status to remain in Kuwait. Once this deadline expires, the ministry will launch a vigorous inspection campaign against those who violate the residency law.
The authorities said that those who violate the law will be pursued and later deported. Violators can amend their status through legal frameworks within the above timeframe to avoid facing such measures.

Those who are caught and deported during strict checks can no longer return to the country. Last year, the ministry arrested and deported nearly 40,000 residency law violators, officials explained. The number of lawbreakers in the country before the amnesty is estimated at around 120,000.
