A migrant worker in Oman was found guilty of not repairing defective goods when he was heavily fined and sentenced to deportation along with jail.

Migrant workers in Oman neither repaired nor replaced defective goods, following which Sohar Court issued Consumer Protection Law by Royal Decree No. (66/2014) is alleged to have been violated. The accused has been fined OMR 5,000 and sentenced to three months in jail.
The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) said that he has also been sentenced to deportation after his jail sentence.
