Oman seized over 3000 Children’s sweets containing images violating public morals

Muscat: Authorities have seized sweets for children after an inspection conducted in Oman’s Al Dakhiliya governorate found that they contained images that violate public morals. More than 3,000 sweets were seized.

Al Dakhiliya Governorate’s Consumer Protection Department, specifically the Market Regulation Control Section, has taken action against a business in Niswa. Officials say that these sweets include images that violate public morals.

This is a violation of the Consumer Protection Act. Business establishments in the governorate were visited as part of regular inspections. During the inspection, 3,571 sweets for children were seized for containing images that violate public morals. Legal action was taken against the institution. A fine was also imposed. When asked about the same, the owner of the shop said that he was not aware of the ban on such pictures.

Officials pointed out that it is important for business owners to keep in constant communication with the concerned authorities and to be aware of new guidelines and decisions. They should also ensure that their products meet the specified standards.
