Police issued alert, Heavy rains continue in UAE

Abu Dhabi: Heavy rain continues in UAE. Many parts of the UAE received heavy rain on Tuesday morning as well. On Monday, there was heavy rain, thunder and lightning in different parts of the country.

An earlier warning had been given that the weather would be unstable in the UAE from Monday to Wednesday. Heavy rain, thunder and hail lashed Sharjah and Al Ain late on Monday night. Abu Dhabi Police has advised motorists to be cautious. Dubai’s parks and resorts will be closed on Tuesday, April 16 due to the unsettled weather.

Meanwhile, a Malayali also died due to heavy rain in Oman. Sunil Kumar, a native of Adoor Kadambanad, died after falling down a wall at work. Heavy rains have been received in various governorates in Oman, which is under the influence of low pressure. Following the heavy rains, the search is on for those who have been swept away by the currents. The Civil Defense and Ambulance Department has informed that four of the eight missing persons are children.

In the event that the rain continues to be very strong, the announcement has been made that schools will be closed on April 16 in Oman. However, this decision does not apply to Dhofar and Al Wusta governorates.
