New York. Recently scientists have found human-caused mercury pollution in the deepest Mariana Trench of the world sea. Recently two research groups presented their report at the Virtual Goldsmith Conference held in Hawaii. Both teams have found evidence of mercury and methyl mercury pollution in the Pacific Ocean at a depth of 11 thousand. Dr. Ryu Sun from Tianjing University China led the team of researchers. The second team analyzed Kedramadek and Mariana Trench of the Pacific under the leadership of Dr. Joel Blum of Michigan University. In this research, it was found that the mercury generated on Earth reached the oceans through rain. Whereas, according to Sun’s team, the mercury is produced in the sea to a depth of 300 to 400 meters, which is swallowed by the fish and goes into the bottom after death. In this way, the mercury gets deposited on the sea floor.

Professor of Hawaiian University, Rubin says that apart from natural phenomena, human activity is also produced. In addition to natural phenomena such as volcanic eruptions and forest fires, human activities such as coal, petrol burning and mining generate mercury and reach the oceans. The biggest disadvantage of mercury pollution in oceans is aquatic organisms, which inadvertently swallow it.
