The Himalayan rebels of Yemen have kept Saudi Arabia in check. Troubled by the frequent operations at oil wells and petroleum plants, Prince Salman has enlisted the help of the British Army. The Independent quoted the defense spokesman as saying in the report that the gunner of the Royal Artillery, the 16th Regiment of the British Army, had been quietly posted at oil fields in Saudi Arabia. So that oil wells can be protected from drone strikes of Huti rebels.

The Defense Spokesperson said that the UK has worked closely with the Saudi Ministry of Defense and several international allies after the Saudi Arabia oil production facilities on 14 September 2019. During this time a strategy was also made to strengthen the defense of its important economic infrastructure from aircrafts. The spokesperson, however, did not disclose the exact deadline or the number of troops involved, citing Operation Security.

British Defense Minister James Hepi also confirmed the report, stating that Britain had deployed giraffe radar to detect drones in Saudi. In addition, air defense command and control systems were also deployed which were capable of firing air defense missiles and guns of short range. Hepi said the deployment was purely defensive. The UK has also spent a total of £ 840,360 in this deployment.

It is being told that from February 2020 Britain deployed its troops in Saudi Arabia. The UK previously operated several dozen training modules with the Saudi military, including air combat, electronic warfare and officer training. The British Army maintains its hideouts at a total of 15 locations in Saudi.
