Qatar Airways is looking forward to a huge deal with Boeing and Airbus to expand its fleet

Qatar Airways is moving towards a historic deal to purchase wide-body aircraft from Boeing and Airbus, in a move that strengthens its position in the regional aviation market and supports its plans for expansion and modernization.

Bloomberg reported that Qatar Airways is close to concluding a major deal to purchase nearly 200 wide-body aircraft from Boeing and Airbus, with the aim of expanding and modernizing its fleet.

A report by the agency stated that the official carrier of the State of Qatar is considering purchasing a mix of Airbus A350s and Boeing 777X models, and it is likely that the final decision will be announced during the Farnborough Air Show in Britain late next month.

According to Bloomberg, this potential deal comes in light of increasing competition in the aviation market in the Middle East, as Emirates Airlines has made major purchases to strengthen its fleet, and Saudi Arabian Riyadh Airlines is seeking to establish its position as a new player in the region.

Through this deal, Qatar Airways seeks to maintain its growth path and modernize its fleet to keep pace with developments in the aviation industry.

It should be noted that Qatar Airways currently has 74 pending orders for Boeing 777X aircraft and 18 Airbus A350-1000 aircraft.

The new deal is expected to contribute to strengthening the company’s relationship with Airbus, after settling the legal dispute that took place between them over peeling paint on the Qatari carrier’s Airbus A350 aircraft in early 2023.
