Riyadh: The Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development warns against exploiting children for commercial and advertising purposes during Ramadan. The use of children in charity campaigns and in commercial and advertising marketing should be strictly prohibited.
The warning is under Article 3 of the Child Protection Act and the Executive Regulations. The ministry also said that these provisions are aimed at protecting the child from the dangers of exposure to large crowds that adversely affect the child’s developmental stages. This can lead to age-defying stress and anxiety. They may also be bullied among peers.
