Crores of rupees are lying in the banks: According to the information received, there are crores of rupees in the banks which have no claimants. In such a situation, a step has been taken by RBI with the help of which efforts are being made to find such people and return their money. . Initially its service was being provided only to selected banks, but now efforts are being made to provide benefits to as many people as possible by including more banks in this initiative.
New portal was started
Udgam Portal was launched on August 17 to ensure that people get all the information related to this at one place. With the help of this portal, customers will be able to know about the unclaimed amount/accounts and can also claim them. RBI has about Rs 35,000 crore unclaimed.
