The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) declared on Tuesday that new daily procedures are being put in place at Dubai Metro stations to guarantee the safety of commuters.

‘Crowd management procedures,’ according to RTA, will be implemented during rush hours:

From 7am to 9.30am
From 5pm to 8.30pm

Riders of the Dubai Metro are advised to schedule their travels in advance. Stations will have sign boards posted, and employees will be available to assist passengers.

“We apologise for any inconvenience and reassure you that our foremost concern is ensuring you reach your destinations,” the RTA said.

The Dubai Metro has not yet resumed full operations following the extraordinary April 16 downpour. Onpassive, Equiti, Al Mashreq, and Energy are the four stations that are still closed.

In an advice released last week, the RTA advised travelers to “avoid using the Metro during peak hours” and schedule their trips around the stations that are open at the moment.
