Sandstorm, heavy rain and strong wind hit several parts of the UAE on the first two days of Eid Al Fitr celebrations.
The downpour caused floods in some valleys in the eastern and central part of Sharjah, while the dust deteriorated visibility on roads.
Various roads in Kalba, especially the area near Wadi Al Helo, had to be closed as streets and valleys were filled with rainwater. Police and patrols have been working really hard to prevent the water from reaching the main roads. The authorities have also urged motorists to stay safe, avoid areas near valleys, and take extra caution while being on the road.
The National Meteorological Centre said the dusty, cloudy, and rainy weather across the country shall continue until today. By evening, clouds are expected to gradually decrease, and wind speeds will remain moderate.
