Heard screams from all around. PIA crash survivor recalls horrifying last moments

No Eid in our home says families in Pakistan as they mourn crash victims.

In the unfortunate incident 97 people got killed and there were only two survivors onboard. However, no fatalities were reported on the ground in the densely populated neighbourhood of multi-story homes adjoining the eastern edge of Jinnah International Airport where the plane crashed.

More than two dozen homes were damaged as the airliner crashed. Crowds rushed to the site, a complete chaos could be seen there. Relatives were searching for their loved ones and rescue workers were on the operation.

Screams and fire all around

One of the miraculous survivors, engineer Muhammad Zubair, told to reporters that the pilot came down to land, briefly touched down, tried to land and then pulled up again.

He announced he was going to make a second attempt shortly before the plane crashed, injured Zubair said from hospital.

Recalling the incident, he added “I will not be able to forget that horrific scene. Loud screams could be heard, and there was fire all around. I was not able to see anybody because of smoke I could just hear their loud screams.”
