Saudi airports: King Khalid International Airport ranked first

The Aviation Regulatory Authority follows 11 passenger experience metrics to determine the ranking of Saudi airports.

Occupy King Khaled International Airport, in Riyadh, ranked first in April among Saudi airports, which serve 15 million or more passengers annually, beating (by a small margin) King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, which was first in the previous month, according to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).GACA) in its monthly report.

How are Saudi airports arranged?

The aviation watchdog follows 11 passenger experience metrics to determine a list ranking Saudi airports, including flight delays, check-in, security, passport and customs control, asset availability, flight delays, and assistance services for individuals with limited mobility.

Sort by number of passengers

In the category of 5-15 million passengers, King Fahd International Airport in Dammam topped the list, followed by Prince Muhammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Medina, according to the authority’s report.

And occupied airport Abha International Airport, Asir, ranked first in the 2-5 million passengers category, followed by King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Jazan. Finally, in the category of airports that receive less than two million passengers annually, Qaisumah Airport – Hafar Al-Batin topped the list, outperforming its peers in terms of shorter waiting times for departure flights.

Domestic airport category

Arar Domestic Airport came in first place, outperforming its peers by providing shorter waiting times for departure and arrival flights.
