The Council’s call included studying the possibility of granting leave to government employees who are looking to start their own projects as entrepreneurs. The Council also requested a review of the legislative and procedural tools related to this step to provide an appropriate and supportive environment for these ambitious employees.

The Council’s decision included an invitation to: The General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises In cooperation with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, to study the possibility of granting special leave to government employees who wish to start their own projects as entrepreneurs. This decision comes within the framework of strengthening a supportive environment for innovation and entrepreneurship within the government sector.

After listening to the viewpoint of the Trade and Investment Committee, the Council issued a decision regarding the annual report of the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises for the fiscal year 2024, where the importance of the role of this authority in supporting leadership and innovation in the Kingdom was emphasized.

The Council also directed the Authority, in coordination with the General Authority for Statistics and the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority, to update its statistical data periodically and make it available to support small and medium enterprises in improving productivity and participating in major development projects in the Kingdom.

At the conclusion of the decisions, the Council called on the Authority to coordinate with the vision realization offices and relevant authorities, to develop sustainable business policies that enable small and medium enterprises to contribute effectively to the supply chains of major projects and achieve the objectives of the approved national strategies.
