In a tragic incident, a Saudi Civil Defence member reported the death of his father in a car accident. The young member rescued his two sisters from the wreckage and transferred them to hospital.

The accident took place in Sumairah governorate, 180 km southeast of Hail.

The Civil Defence Centre received a report on Wednesday evening, stating that a family car collided with a stray camel near the village of Safra.

When the Civil Defence men reached the accident site, one of them recognised the car. To his horror, it turned out to be his father’s vehicle. His two sisters were also inside the vehicle.

His father was stuck in the car.

Because he bore the brunt of the collision, he died immediately while his two sisters suffered injuries, and were transferred to the governorate hospital.

Then they were taken to King Khalid Hospital in Hail.

The sisters are stable and responding to treatment.

In February, the Fayfa’s civil defence teams in Saudi Arabia witnessed a fatal car accident, resulting in the death of a cleaner and the injury of another.

The garbage truck driven by a cleaner from Fayfa’s Municipality had slipped due to the rain and fell off the mountain, resulting in the death of the worker and the injury of another.

A video showed the truck approaching a bend on the road. It somehow loses control and slipped of the mountain.

In December, a gravel-laden truck sliding toward the Omar Bin Abdulaziz Road tunnel crushed a car in Riyadh.

A video clip revealed how the accident started when the heavy truck collided with a small vehicle on a slope, and then sliding towards the tunnel.

Despite the driver’s attempts to stop it, the truck was pushing the vehicle strongly in front of it until it slipped and overturned inside the tunnel.

It is noteworthy that the accident caused the death of the truck driver, a Sudanese resident in his 30s.

Photos from the site showed police and health workers clear the scene.

The truck overturned and blocked the underpass.
