More than 1,500 prisoners imprisoned in Saudi jails have been released. According to media reports, the prosecution of the Saudi government has released more than 1,500 prisoners due to no legal basis for confinement in prison. Al Arabia Television has reported this.

According to Al Arabia Television, the collective is part of efforts to protect the rights and related guarantees of the prisoners. The Public Prosecution said on its Twitter account, “The Prisoner Oversight Department is independently carrying out its work regarding verification of the legitimacy of Gir’fta’ari as well as enforcement of disciplinary decisions.”

According to the Public Prosecution, there is no legal basis to arrest the released prisoners. The Saudi newspaper Okaz cited unnamed sources as saying that those in charge of overseas prisons conduct surprise inspections for prisons and send them to sites to ensure that no one is sentenced without legal reasons. In recent years, Saudi Arabia has taken several steps to improve its legal system.
