There is the Al Khan Bay or Al Khan Lagoon which is a key part of the neighbourhood. Within the emirate of Sharjah, the community of Al Khan is considered one of the most popular places to rent and buy apartments. Average rents here hover around Dh22,000 and Dh24,000 for a one-bedroom unit. Some units come with free parking as well. Asking price for one bed room with two bathrooms in a brand new building is Dh26,000. It lies between Sharjah and Dubai. Many people who work in Dubai prefer staying in Al Nahda Sharjah as it is cheaper than what it is in the Dubai side. Al Wahda Street’s residential area lies on the Al Majaz side where it is close to landmarks such as City Centre Sharjah, Star Cineplex, Al Noor Mosque and Al Majaz Waterfront. Al Taawun, Al Nahda, Sharjah’s industrial areas and Abu Shagara are all easily reachable from the residential area of Al Wahda Street. The area is termed ‘Rolla’ after a large banyan tree that once thrived in the area. Rolla is part of the Al Ghuwair development, the neighbourhood is nestled between the communities of Al Shuwaihean and Al Musalla. This is regarded as the cheapest area in Sharjah to lease and is close to Mega Mal,l which is one of the most popular malls in Sharjah. Al Yarmook is regarded as one of the cheapest places to rent in Sharjah. Rent for a one-bedroom apartment here is as low as Dh16,000 per annum and Dh19,000 for a two-bedroom apartment.
