Abu Dhabi: Sheikh Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, a member of the Abu Dhabi royal family, has passed away. Sheikh Tahnoon is the Al Ain regional representative of the Ruler of Abu Dhabi and the uncle of the current UAE President, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Seven days of official mourning have been announced in the UAE. During this period, the national flag will be flown at half-mast in the country.

UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan condoled the death of Sheikh Nahnoon. Seven days of official mourning will begin on Wednesday, May 1. Recently, Sheikh Tahnoon participated in several events held in different parts of the country along with the UAE President. UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum expressed his condolences on the death of Sheikh Tahnoon.
Before becoming the UAE President’s Representative in the Al Ain region, Sheikh Tahnoon served as Chairman of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and Deputy Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council. The Abu Dhabi-Al Ain road was named after Sheikh Tahnoon in 2018.
