Airlines and airport authorities with special instructions for air passengers

Dubai: Following the weather forecast that there is a possibility of heavy rain in the UAE, special instructions have been issued for air passengers. Dubai airport authorities and airlines have asked passengers to prepare accordingly as rain and traffic jams are expected. Those traveling through Dubai Airport, whether in private vehicles or relying on public transport systems, are advised to disembark a little earlier and allow extra time to account for possible disruptions on the way.

“Guests traveling through Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Dubai Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) are advised to prepare accordingly in advance as adverse weather conditions have been notified. Smart apps that provide real-time traffic information can be used to understand things like traffic jams. Those arriving at Dubai Metro Terminals 1 and 3 can also be used” – informed the spokesperson of Dubai Airports. Passengers should check the status of services with their respective airlines. The notice says to arrive a little earlier than usual to avoid unusual weather conditions or long queues affecting the journey.

Airlines including Emirates and Etihad have also issued similar advice to customers. The current weather warning predicts heavy rain in the UAE for two days from Wednesday evening. The country’s disaster management authority has directed that employees in the private sector who do not need to go directly to their workplaces should be allowed to work from home. Schools in the emirates of Sharjah and Dubai will adopt the distance learning method.
