Riyadh: The arrival of Hajj pilgrims by road from outside Saudi Arabia has started. A group of 1,348 pilgrims from Iraq reached Saudi Arabia for the first time through the Jadidat Arar border gate. The pilgrims were received by passport and customs officials.
The relevant departments have prepared elaborate systems at the entry gates for speedy completion of travel procedures and health services. The pilgrims thanked for the warm welcome and praised the preparations and health and medical services for speedy completion of the procedure. The city of Jadidat Arar is a major stop on the Hajj route for those coming from Iraq.

Zakat, Taxation and Customs Authority spokesman Hamoud Al Harbi explained that preparations to receive the pilgrims had already been completed at Jadidat Arar port. The Hajj Hall, spread over an area of 9,000 square meters, can accommodate 20,000 pilgrims per day. The authority spokesperson said that there are six special areas for checking and 68 passport counters in the hall.
