The UAE has introduced its latest attraction, the Hanging Gardens in Kalba, featuring over 100,000 trees spread across 1.6 million square feet and standing at an impressive height of 281 meters above sea level.

This breathtaking garden, situated on the Sharjah-Kalba Road, was inaugurated by Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, the Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, on March 8. During the inauguration, Dr. Sheikh Sultan explored the various sections of the garden alongside attendees, marveling at its aesthetic elements such as lush green spaces, terraces adorned with flowers, and cascading waterfalls.

He also enjoyed a musical performance by school students, expressing their admiration and gratitude for the project. Local residents of Kalba expressed their appreciation to Dr. Sheikh Sultan for his unwavering support of the developmental projects initiated in the area.

Dr. Sheikh Sultan, in return, took commemorative photos with the children and toured the central restaurant within the garden, which boasts seating for 215 people and offers picturesque views of the gardens and waterfall. The Ruler of Sharjah also visited the designated recreational areas for children, including mountain climbing routes with varying difficulty levels and skating arenas catering to different skill levels.

Additionally, he inspected the track for the excursion train, which traverses four stations across a length of 820 meters, providing visitors with an opportunity to explore the garden’s diverse features. The Hanging Gardens project includes a traditional wooden restaurant building located 270 meters above sea level, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

It also provides various amenities, such as parking spaces, facilities for disabled visitors, electric vehicle charging stations, restrooms, prayer rooms, and a cafeteria serving light meals. This project is a pivotal component of a comprehensive development strategy aimed at enhancing the economic, tourism, and cultural aspects of Kalba City. It serves as a premier tourist destination, offering leisure activities, sports facilities, and opportunities to appreciate the natural beauty of the surroundings, thereby stimulating tourism and economic growth in the region.
