Two beauty salons and three restaurants have been shut down by Dibba Al Fujairah Municipality for failing to follow the prescribed precautionary measures to control the spread of Covid-19.

Hassan Salem Al Yamahi, director-general of the municipality, said the erring outlets were detected and closed down during the 110 inspection raids carried out across the city.

“These outlets failed to observe the disinfection protocol enforced, while their staff did not wear face masks and gloves as instructed.”

The three eateries fined had received customers in violation of the nationwide ban, he added.

“Only external orders and deliveries are allowed.”

Some of the food stuff spotted in the three restaurants were not stored in a proper manner posing heath hazard, he pointed out.

“The erring outlets have been given a grace period to shape up and stick to rules.”

Al Yamahi said more raids will be carried out to ensure all outlets’ comply with the prescribed health and safety rules.

“Hefty fines and closure will be slapped against violators.”
