With around 265 deaths reported in the last 24 hours, the Covid-19 fatality toll now raised to 4,971.
According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India highest number of 7,964 coronavirus positive cases have been reported in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of positive cases in the country to 1,73,763.
With 265 deaths reported in just one day, the fatality count now stands at 4,971.

Out of the total count of positive cases, 86,422 are still active and it is reported that around 82,370 have been cured/ migrated/discharged/.
Maharashtra remains the worst-affected among the Indian states, with more than 62,228 positive cases, followed by Tamil Nadu where there are 20,246 cases, Delhi has 17,386 cases and Gujarat (15,934).
