Dubai records the lowest level of Purchasing Managers’ Index in 15 months

Dubai records the lowest level of Purchasing Managers’ Index in 15 months, decreased Dubai Purchasing Managers Index, released by Standard & Poor’s Global today, fell to its lowest level in 15 months during the month of May, as companies reported a further slowdown in the growth of economic activity.

The headline index, which fell from 55.1 points in April to 54.7 points in May, showed a strong improvement in business conditions.

Growth in new orders saw a modest rebound after hitting a 13-month low in April, as some companies reported an increase in customer activity following flood-related disruptions.

Supplier performance also rebounded, with delivery times reduced at the fastest rate since last October. Inflationary pressures accelerated in May amid reports of higher prices for raw materials and gasoline. Total input costs rose at the fastest rate since July 2022, leading to the first increase in product prices during this period.
