Hajj 2025: When will Umrah resume? Season calendar announced

As preparations for Hajj 2025 intensify in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, many Muslims who did not get the chance to perform the holy trip wait eagerly to know when it will be possible for them to visit Makkah and perform Umrah.

Saudi authorities have said that final date to enter the country for Umrah pilgrims was April 13 and the final date to depart was April 29. Saying after this date is a violation, subject to legal penalties as only Hajj visa holders are allowed in the holy city.

Pilgrims have already started to flock to Makkah ahead of the Hajj. The peak of the holy journey will take place on Day of Arafat which will likely fall on June 6, although the matter depends on crescent sighting.

On Friday, the Saudi Ministry of Haj and Umrah unveiled the detailed calendar of Umrah and Hajj over the Hijri year 1446 and 1447 which will may likely start on June 27.

If you are planning for Umrah, take a look at these important dates to plan your journey: (dates are likely since sighting of Dhu al-Hijjah crescent sighting is scheduled on May 27:

  • 29 Dhu al-Qadah (May 29): Signing of contracts to curate services’ packages for Umrah performers
  • 14 Dhu al-Hijjah (June 11): Resuming of issuing Umrah visas and entry permits
  • 15 Dhu al-Hijjah (June 12): Start of issuing Nusuk permits for Umrah
  • 1 Shawwal (March 20, 2026): End of time allowed for issuing Umrah visas
  • 15 Shawwal (April 3, 2026): Final day of for Umrah performers to enter the kingdom ahead of Hajj season
  • 1 Dhu al-Qadah (April 18, 2026): Final day for Umrah performers to leave the country for preparations for Hajj 2026 to start
