New York: Iconic spots like New York Stock Exchange and Church of the Nativity reopened their doors on Tuesday. But due to spike in infection, new alarm bells rang in Latin America.
The New York Stock Exchange, which had gone virtual from last two months – allowed only some traders to return to the trading floor. Also wearing masks is also a compulsion to reduce the risk of infection.
Some signs of hope were also seen at some of the world’s most popular destinations like the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, built on the spot where it is believed that saviour Jesus was born.
Rula Maaya, the Palestinian tourism minister said “The church’s opening will definitely give hope to the world that this COVID-19 pandemic will end soon.”
