The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development in Saudi Arabia has today (1 December) announced the start of the implementation of the “final” 17th phase of the “Wage Protection System (WPS)”. The Ministry said that the 17th and final phase of the “Wage Protection” program has been implemented for companies. The purpose of the WPS program is to reduce disputes and establish rights of workers at their facilities.

The Wage Protection Program monitors the distribution of salaries of all workers, including Saudi nationals and expatriates of private sector companies, and also determines the level of commitment by companies to pay salaries.

The ministry highlighted the need for all establishments to stay connected to the wage protection program and increase the pay file on a monthly basis so that the prescribed penalties in the system do not apply. And the establishments can know the requirements of the program and can be connected as per the procedures described on the website of the Ministry or by visiting the “Mud” platform.
