A total of 7,116 Philippine civil workers have been sent to their country, Philippines, since the Philippines Embassy in Kuwait began in March. The last batch returned from Kuwait includes 310 Filipinos who departed from a charter plane to Manila on Sept. 6, the Philippine Foreign Ministry said in a statement provided by the Philippine Star Agency.
The fifteenth flight was conducted by the Embassy till June 2020. The Philippine Embassy had conducted these visits at a lower cost.
The Philippine government, through the State Department’s Civil Assistance Fund, has only paid for tickets for those who have no resources due to the epidemic. He said the Kuwaiti government has returned philippine nationals who do not have any travel documents and distillers.
That included those participating in the amnesty program in April 2020 as part of its preventive measures. At the expense of the Kuwaiti government, 2,466 Filipino citizens returned to their homeland of the Philippines between March 25 and June 3, 2020.
