Saudi Arabia’s Haj and Umrah ministry has imposed a fine of more than 600 million Saudi riyal on more than 300 Umrah companies in the state, as well as ordering closure of companies. In fact, these Umrah companies failed to send back the passengers of other countries who had been brought to the country from Saudi prematurely, so they were fined. Saudi Arabian newspaper Okaz has informed about this.
In Saudi, the passengers who are umrah do not have the right to stay after the Umrah, which stops more than the stipulated time after the Umrah passenger journey, is fined for over-stay. The penalty is levied by the Directorate General of Saudi Arabia Passports and the Ministry of Haj.
The General Directorate of Passports had already ordered the owners of the Umrah companies to pay their fines by looking at the details of the passengers who had already stayed more than the stipulated time. The owners of the companies refused to stay more than their scheduled time since they were aware of the names of the pilgrims. Okaz said the Haj ministry and Omar’s spokesman refused to comment, while a Hajj and Umrah committee in the Chamber of Commerce asked for a fine.
