In line with the national efforts and instructions to contain the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic, the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai announced the cancellation of all permits for Ramadan tents for the year 2020.

The announcement said that all permits for Ramadan tents will be cancelled for this year, and it is strictly forbidden to bring meals for ending fasts to the courtyards of mosques in order to prevent gatherings. Tho who wish to participate in distribution of meals should approach the charities and institutions approved and licensed by IACAD.

For his part, Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, executive director of the department, stressed the importance of these precautionary steps in supporting the national efforts, indicating that the department places health and safety among its priorities. He noted that this process comes in line with coordination with various government agencies, taking into account all necessary measures to provide a safe environment.

Muhammad Musabeh Dahi, director of the Charitable Institutions Department, also revealed that IACAD is continuing to spread the charitable work among the various segments of society. ‘Meals of Hope’ is an innovative digital initiative that helps feed the needy.
