Officials in UAE approve academic calendar for three years

Officials in the UAE approved the academic calendar on Monday for three years. The academic calendar will start from 2020-21. All the details in this calendar will be based on the school year, i.e., the month of the year from which classes will start in schools, the calendar will start from the same month. The calendar will be given details of the opening, closure and holidays of the school. The Development Council, chaired by Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed, approved this academic calendar for government and private schools for the next three years.

Based on this academic calendar, a three-week winter holiday will begin on December 13 for students in private schools with foreign courses which will end on December 31. The school will reopen on January 3, 2021 thereafter. The two-week spring holiday will be from 28th March 2021 to 8th April 2021. The classes are expected to commence from April 11, 2021.

The last day of school for the academic year 2020-21 will be on 1st July 2021. For public and private schools that follow the curriculum from the Ministry of Education, the dates are different. For example, the winter holidays will be four weeks long from December 13 to January 7, 2021.
