India UAE US Israel Meeting: On the meeting of the four countries, the US has said that discussions were held on increasing economic and political cooperation because the four countries share many interests.
India, Israel, the US and the UAE have decided to set up an international forum for economic cooperation on the lines of the Quad (QUAD). The purpose of the new forum is to focus on other areas including infrastructure. On the lines of the Quad, a virtual meeting of the foreign ministers of the four countries on a single platform will be held in the coming months.
The focus will be on infrastructure, digital infrastructure, transportation, maritime security through an international forum between the four countries for economic cooperation and senior officials will also be appointed for the joint group.
After the meeting of foreign ministers, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar tweeted on Tuesday that a fruitful meeting between the Foreign Minister of Israel, the Foreign Minister of the UAE and the US Secretary of State discussed economic development and working together on global issues. Turning Point in West Asia for India!
In fact, for India, the meeting of the four foreign ministers will prove to be a turning point regarding policy in West Asia. India’s policy in the matter of Central Asia will now move away from bilateral relations to an integrated regional one. The new forum between the four countries can be seen as the Indo-Abrahamic Treaty between India, Israel and the UAE.
Actually the purpose of this idea was that India could also take advantage of the normal relations between Israel and Arab countries because of the Abrahamic Treaty. With America joining it, India’s presence in Central Asia will get another new dimension. The new arrangement will also help India in handling the growing influence of China in Central Asia.
