The UAE’s leaders sent a note of congratulations to Saudi Arabia to mark its National Day.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, sent a joint video praising Saudi achievements through the years.

They also paid tribute to the strong ties between both countries.

“Congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Crown Prince, and the Saudi people on their 90th National Day,” wrote Sheikh Mohamed on Twitter.

He said the day marked 90 years of achievements and historical positions in support of Arab and Islamic causes.

“The UAE and Saudi relations were, are and will remain a model of brotherhood, love, harmony and one destiny,” he said.

The kingdom’s National Day falls on September 23 and marks the day when its founder King Abdulaziz Al Saud renamed the Kingdom of Hejaz and Nejd as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in honour of his family name.

The video was posted on both leaders’ social media accounts and spoke of the enduring relationship between the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, also congratulated Saudi Arabia.

“To the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia … Your banner has always been fluttering and your kingdom is safe under the wise leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques,” said Sheikh Hamdan.

“In the name of the leadership and people of the Emirates, we congratulate you on this glorious day.”
