RIYADH: Saudi Arabia authorities have repeatedly warned those who violate residence and employment regulations by transferring, employing or providing asylum to them. The ministry said in a statement that the punishment for violators has been toughened.
If the institutions or individuals employ workers who violate the country’s residence and employment laws, the punishment is a fine of one lakh Riyals and six months imprisonment. This was explained in a statement issued by Public Security on Wednesday. Transporting, employing, harboring, sheltering or providing any assistance to any persons violating the residence and labor regulations shall be fined.

If the violation is committed by a foreigner, the punishment will also be deportation. The ministry requested the public to call 911 in Makkah and Riyadh and 996 and 999 in other areas.
International demand soars, exports to 119 countries; Saudi dates are a hit
Riyadh: International demand for Saudi dates has increased. Exports spread to 119 countries. According to the International Trade Center’s ‘Trade Map’, exports increased by 14 percent last year. The export value rose to a total of 146.2 crore riyals. In 2022, it was 128 crore riyals. The number of countries importing Saudi dates has increased to 119. Compared to the figure of 2016, the export value increased by 152.5 percent in 2023.
Exports recorded the highest annual growth rate of 14 percent in the last five years. The UN Food and Agriculture Organization congratulated Saudi Arabia for this achievement. The National Center for Palms and Dates said in a statement that this is the result of the country’s achievements in increasing non-oil exports and improving the management of oil palm plantations. Center Chief Executive Dr. Muhammad Alnuwairan congratulated.
