These measures come within the framework of the Ministry of Health’s ongoing efforts to enhance health control at airports and border crossings.
The Saudi Ministry of Health has imposed a fine on three airlines for violating the health monitoring system after their arrival from three countries to Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Medina.
This decision comes based on the general controls and conditions in the executive regulations of the health monitoring system at entry points, and in accordance with the Ministry’s responsibilities in addressing health risks, which enhances health security and ensures public health safety.
The ministry explained that the violation committed by the companies was represented in their failure to adhere to the procedures followed to combat disease vectors from infected areas, as they did not spray the aircraft with insecticides according to the specified standards, which constitutes a violation of the health procedures stipulated in the executive regulations of the health monitoring system at the entry ports.
The ministry added that these violations occurred during the transport of passengers coming from infected areas on board the aircraft of the violating companies, without following the necessary preventive measures to prevent the transmission of diseases.
The ministry indicated that it had taken disciplinary measures against these companies to ensure that such violations that may endanger public health are not repeated.
These measures come within the framework of the Ministry of Health’s ongoing efforts to enhance health control at airports and border crossings, and to maintain public health by strictly implementing regulations and rules to ensure health security and safety for citizens, residents and visitors in various regions of the Kingdom.
