Saudi Arabia warns against fake Hajj campaigns

The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah monitored advertisements for companies and campaigns, in addition to fake accounts on social networks claiming to organize Hajj at attractive prices.

The Ministry indicated, in a post on its official page on the “X” platform, that these fake campaigns advertise their services through social media sites in a number of countries, and explained that coming to perform the Hajj can only be done through:

  • Obtaining a Hajj visa issued by the relevant authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and in coordination with countries through their Hajj affairs offices,
  • Or through the “Nasak Hajj” platform for countries that do not have official Hajj offices.

The source indicated that the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah monitored advertisements for companies and campaigns in addition to fake accounts on social networks claiming to organize Hajj at attractive prices, calling for caution against dealing with such campaigns and companies.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah praised the efforts made by the Supreme Authority for Hajj and Umrah in the Republic of Iraq, in cooperation with the Iraqi authorities, as more than 25 fake companies marketing commercial Hajj were arrested. It also appreciates the efforts made by all countries in combating this irregular phenomenon.

The Ministry explained earlier that Umrah, tourism, work, family visit, transit (transit) and other types of visas; It does not qualify the holder to perform the Hajj pilgrimage, calling on everyone to adhere to the regulations and laws imposed by the official authorities organizing the Hajj, and not to get carried away by fictitious companies and offices that claim to have commercial Hajj campaigns and other names.

The Ministry is constantly following up on the advertisements of these fake companies and campaigns, and hopes for everyone’s cooperation to contribute to combating and reporting them, and to work to reduce the phenomenon of pilgrimage without a permit. It calls on everyone to obtain official information by visiting the Ministry’s website and through its channels on various social networks.
