Saudi ministers discuss the challenges of the global economy at an international meeting

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia participates in the spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group for the year 2024 in Washington, and discusses providing financial aid and financial support to countries in need.

In Washington, DC, the Spring Meetings kick off International Monetary Fund And group A World Bank For the year 2024, which lasts from April 15 to 20, 2024, where participants discuss developments in the global economy, growth prospects and risks surrounding it, in addition to reviewing global economic policy priorities and the Fund’s role in supporting member states.

And he heads Delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia In these meetings, Minister of Finance Mohammed Al-Jadaan, and these meetings are a platform that brings together finance ministers, central bank governors, senior officials from international organizations and the private sector, representatives of civil society organizations, and academics to discuss a number of important topics including the economy, the global financial system, sustainable development, Ways to eliminate poverty, and other economic and financial issues.

During this participation, he will chair Minister of Finance A meeting of the International Monetary and Financial Affairs Committee of the International Monetary Fund after the announcement of the Kingdom’s presidency for three years. The meeting aims to exchange views regarding developments in the global economy, growth prospects and risks surrounding it, and discuss global economic policy priorities and the Fund’s role in dealing with these developments by providing aid. Financial advice, technical capacity building for member states and financial support for countries in need.

A Saudi delegation is participating in the meeting, including the Governor of the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA), Ayman Al-Sayyari, the CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development, Sultan Al-Murshed, the Assistant Minister of Finance for Macro-Financial Policies and International Relations, Abdul Mohsen Al-Khalaf, in addition to a number of Saudi economic officials.

The Kingdom’s delegation will also participate in the G20 meetings under the Brazilian presidency, where global economic and development issues and ways to enhance international cooperation to confront current economic challenges will be discussed.

The Minister will participate in the meeting of the Development Committee of the World Bank Group to discuss the latest developments in global development work and plans implemented by the World Bank Group.
