Saudi Ministry of Transport announces the launch of flying taxis during the Hajj season

For the first time officially, the “flying taxi” and “drones” experience will be launched experimentally during the Hajj season this year.

As part of its preparations for the upcoming Hajj season, it is heading Ministry of Transport and Services Logistics towards creating an innovative service for transporting the guests of God using “Flying taxi“ Waldrones, to transport pilgrims from the airport to hotels using electric aircraft.

This experience is scheduled to allow the pilgrims to reach their hotels in Mecca directly from the airport via electric aircraft, reducing the time and effort required for traditional transportation. This step is part of the strategy to develop the transportation sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which aims to provide modern and innovative services to citizens and visitors.

This experience is considered a modern model that comes in light of the competition of several companies seeking to provide practical products in the coming years, as Saudi Airlines previously confirmed its intention to purchase 100 electric planes, with the aim of transporting the guests of God from King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah to the airstrips in hotels located in Mecca.

In a related context, it was announced Saudi Arabian Airlines It announced its intention to purchase 100 electric aircraft with the aim of facilitating the transportation of pilgrims from King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah to their hotels in Mecca. This decision comes within the framework of activating the partnership between the public and private sectors to provide distinguished services to visitors and pilgrims.

For its part, the Ministry confirmed that this experience represents the beginning of innovative future projects in the field of transportation and logistics services, and reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to developing its vital sectors and adopting modern technology to serve society.
