This cooperation took place through the agreement concluded on the sidelines of the Gulf Vision Forum (VISION GOLFE 2024), which was organized by the National Agency to Support the Development of the French Economy Internationally (Business France) from June 4-5, 2024 AD in the French capital, Paris, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, French industrial and digital sovereignty, under the auspices of French President Emmanuel Macron, aims to promote international trade and support the marine environment.

It comes as part of “Mawani’s” efforts to achieve the goals of the national strategy for transport and logistics services, which aims to consolidate the Kingdom’s position as a global logistics center and a hub linking the three continents.

This memorandum is an important step in enhancing international cooperation in the port sector and achieving environmental and economic sustainability. This French-Saudi cooperation is an example of international cooperation in the field of technology and economics, and may open the door to more mutual opportunities between the two countries.

Regarding the meaning of smart ports, they are ports that use advanced technology such as the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, and autonomous systems to improve operational efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and enhance security.
