Sharjah Ruler pardons 369 prisoners on occasion of Ramadan

Prisoners were being released for meeting the conditions of good conduct and behaviour.

His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, pardoned 369 inmates at the Punitive and Correctional Institution in Sharjah, on the occasion of Ramadan.

According to a statement issued by the Sharjah Police on Wednesday, the Ruler ordered the release of  369 prisoners, who are serving their sentence under the management of the Punitive and Correctional Institution in Sharjah.

The prisoners were being released in accordance with the conditions of good conduct and behaviour, on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.

Commenting on the gesture, Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, appreciated the Ruler of Sharjah, for the gesture, adding that His Highness is keen to support the family structure – bringing joy and pleasure to the hearts of families.

The officer hoped that the holy month will be a source of good for the released, a way to benefit from the lessons of their experience and return to society as contributing and productive individuals.
