Stockholm
People in a Swedish city were surprised when the night sky changed from black to purple. The night sky turns purple in Treliborg off Sweden’s southern coast. Some days people were upset seeing this but then they came to know what is the reason behind it. Actually, an energy-efficient lighting system was installed at a nearby tomato farm. Its effect can be seen here.

How color changed
Tomato farm operators in Gislov, 10 minutes from Treliborg, have installed an energy-saving LED light system that is purple in color. It is believed that the light falling on the trees is good for them. This light is so bright that the locals started complaining about it. On November 6, operators began turning off the lights between 5 and 11 am.

‘Save energy’
However, Treliborg’s environmental manager Michael Noren says a second action plan is being prepared to ensure that people do not suffer. The statement is issued by Alfred Pedersen & Son, owner of Tomato Farm. It states that tomato cultivation will be stopped in the evening. This will harm them, but the statement said that this was being done to save electricity. Not to make people angry.
