This is why a resident thanked Dubai Police on Twitter

Due to COVID-19 precaution, people are forced to confined to their homes and it is inevitable to hear your neighbours more that you would like.

One such incident was reported recently, when during the Eid holidays – lockdown restricted the movement of people from 8pm to 6am – one resident of a building could no longer handle his noisy neighbours any longer.

In a tweet, Hussein Al Rohome shared his friend’s message for Dubai Police’s for their quick response in addressing the loud music and noises of the rowdy neighbours. “The police showed quick response and handled the situation with extreme professionalism. They were very friendly and helped us. I wish the police in my country would as good as yours here. Congratulations to Police staff. Unfortunately, I am not in a position to tell them how much I appreciated the way they tackled the issues. Shukran to them!”

What’s the noise limit in Dubai?

The permitted noise level during day time ranges from 40-50 decibels, and in the night 30-40 decibels is acceptable.

How to file a noise complaint

In case of extreme noisiness tenants should first complain to the residential building management, or security personnel. If the situation is going out of control then tenants can also contact Dubai Police on the non-emergency hotline 901.
