Riyadh: Foreign students on long-term study visas can work part-time in Saudi Arabia. Director of Education Visa Initiative Sami Al Haisuni stated in the ‘Ya Hala’ program on the ‘Rotana Khaleeziya’ channel that they will be allowed to do various jobs in the country on a part-time basis during their studies.

He also explained that he can bring his own family and stay there. A long-term study visa is valid for one year or more. Depending on the nature of the program and the offer of the university, the visa can be extended by another six months. Under the ‘Study in Saudi Arabia’ initiative, foreign students can enroll in all government and private institutions.

Education can be pursued at all levels, including Masters and Doctorate degrees. Recently, the education visa service under the ‘Study in Saudi Arabia’ initiative has been launched jointly by the Saudi Ministries of Education and Foreign Affairs. It is part of the ‘Human Capacity Development Programme’ and ‘Vision 2030’ goals. This step is part of efforts to improve education in Saudi Arabia and facilitate the procedures for students who want to study in the country.

This aims to increase the role of Saudi Arabia as a global education center. It is estimated that more than 70,000 foreign students are currently studying in various courses in public and private universities in various sectors of the country. It is estimated that there will be a huge increase in the number of foreign students in Saudi Arabia with the study visa process being made more transparent.

This will raise the ranking of Saudi universities and increase the competitiveness of education. The contribution of Saudi Arabia in imparting knowledge and teaching Arabic language will further increase.
