UAE: The holy month of Ramadan is about to begin. In this month, Muslims all over the world keep fast, pray and pay Zakat. That’s why beggars are usually seen more during Ramadan. But begging is a crime in the Arab country UAE. Therefore, before Ramzan, an anti-begging campaign is being run under which the police is catching beggars.
Recently, two such cases related to beggars have come to light in which the police have arrested women with 60 thousand and 30,000 dirhams in cash. One of these women used her child to beg so that she could get the sympathy of more people. Police said that both the women had come to Dubai on visit visa.

Dubai Police says that 99 percent of the beggars arrested have made begging their profession. Let us tell you that Dubai Police is running a campaign against beggars in the country before Ramadan. Dubai Police has arrested hundreds of beggars from whom lakhs of rupees have been recovered.
Salaried beggars
Sharjah Police has told Khaleej Times about the paid beggars. According to the police, many people are brought to the country by agents just to beg and they are paid salaries for begging. In the last four years, Dubai Police has caught a total of 1,701 beggars. Nearly 500 beggars were arrested in 2023 alone. This figure shows the deepening crisis of beggars in Dubai. According to the police, many beggars are brought to UAE on visit visa specifically to beg. Last year a family of five people was caught. This entire family was begging on the streets and mosques of Dubai.
Advice to avoid beggars
Begging in UAE is a crime and there is a provision of a fine of 5 thousand dirhams and 3 months in jail for it. Apart from this, those who run groups of beggars can be punished with 6 months jail and a fine of Rs 1 lakh.
