UK mulls 'air bridges' to replace coronavirus quarantine for arrivals

UK government ministers are planning to replace Covid-19 quarantine for passengers arriving at airports by the end of June. The government is considering air bridges as an option as per the reports.

The purpose of the policy of air bridges is to enable people from other countries who have achieved comparatively lower levels of Covid-19 infection to come to UK.

The Department for Transport and the Home Office have been instructed to plan to allow for the introduction of those people by the end of the month, according to the reports.

Britain’s quarantine for people travelling to the country from abroad will be started from June 8, Priti Patel, Interior Minister said in May.
