Kuwait authorities thwarted attempt to smuggle 1 million drug pills

Kuwait City: An attempt to smuggle drug pills into Kuwait was foiled. Four natives were arrested in connection with this.

During the police investigation, information was received that four natives were arriving at the Kuwait International Airport with seven boxes filled with Lyrica tablets. Criminal Security Affairs Assistant Undersecretary Major General Hameed Al Dawas and Director General of Narcotics Control Brigadier General Mohammad Kabazard were conducting a security check at the arrival hall of Kuwait Airport. Meanwhile, four citizens are caught with seven suitcases filled with approximately one million drug pills. They were assisted by customs officials.

Four natives and the customs officials who helped them were arrested. Three Kuwaitis were caught with six bags of narcotic pills in the airport parking lot. A fourth passenger was arrested inside the airport along with two customs officers who admitted to cooperating with the smugglers by taking the money. They and the seized drugs have been handed over to the concerned authorities for further legal action.
